The West Coast has the largest territorial expanses in the US; consisting of six states that include California, Nevada, Alaska, Oregon, Washington and Hawaii. California alone has the largest population in the US reaching over 38 million people. The 2015 GDP of California alone was $2.228 trillion, and when compared to the 2015 GDP of the UK $2.849 trillion, California is a significant opportunity for market entry.
US customers love British brands, culture, products and services, stems from a long history of adoration for Brand Britain. Traditional or contemporary British brands globally embody the highest quality, elaborate stories and detailed hand craftsmanship.
“Source British offers a springboard exclusively for British Brands to start exporting to the US,” says Olivett Asare, Event Director at Source British. “The UK has exceptional creative design talent across the board and Source British will showcase these great brands from Great Britain in a supportive environment, with partners like the UK’s Department for International Trade, Trend Council and California Market Center.”
Exhibitors will be able to join Trend Council for live forecasting presentations on the morning or afternoon on both days. This session, presented by Trend Council’s Director of Client and Creative Services Ash Allibhai, has been designed for buyers and exhibitors to identify trends that will shape retail in the upcoming season, outlining must have colour, pattern and key items. “British fashion has always been acclaimed for its ‘fearlessness’ and Brits are famed for their individual sense of style. Often described as having a ‘thrown-on’ feel to what we wear, mixing prints, patterns and styles and pulling this look off effortlessly,” says Ash Allibhai.
